What Is AI-Assisted Enterprise Software Development?

AI-Assisted Software Development is an approach to producing software by using Large Language Models (LLMs). The LLM generates software based on the provided prompt, shifting the programmer's role from manual coding to guiding, validating and adjusting the generated code. 

Google announced 6 months ago that they auto generate 25% of their code. Venture Capitalists have invested in companies whose software was mostly built with prompt-first development tools. Startups that provide AI-assisted software development tools are the fastest growing companies ever.

AI-Assisted Software Development is an enabler for business leaders to build prototypes of the apps they need, and a huge leverage for experienced software developers to build better software much faster. It has the potential to increase development velocity by an order of magnitude as well as scalability, reliability, security, maintainability, compliance and cost-effectiveness.

The Challenge: Build An In-House Mission-Critical App Using AI-Assisted Software Development Tools In A Way That Is Suitable Within The Enterprise Context

In this hackathon you will build a prototype of an in-house app for a mission-critical process, such as employee onboarding, customer relationship, resource planning, supply chain and logistics management, field service, approvals and exceptions.  

Most companies still manage their internal processes with lots of spreadsheets, and even email, because they haven’t found a good off-the-shelf solution. SaaS solutions can be great but often fail to satisfy many organizations’ specific needs and way of doing things. By leveraging AI-Assisted Software Development tools, businesses can rapidly build tailored software solutions that streamline collaboration, reduce manual errors, and centralize all data in one place.

We will provide guidance on how to structure your AI-Assisted Software Development project to be suitable for the enterprise context and which tools to use. We are eager to see your approach and what you will build.
