The Challenge: Revolutionize Price Optimization

Build a Price Optimization engine that helps Pricing Managers align prices with business goals like never seen before.

Price Optimization is one of the top challenges for all companies, because it's difficult and time-consuming to gather the needed data, create reliable models and verify that the price recommendations are appropriate. So most Price Optimization is still done manually based on gut feeling, leading to lack of agility and limitations in ability to take large amounts of complex and fast-changing data into consideration.

Real-time Analytics engines are powerful tools for taking large amounts of complex and fast-changing data into account, to produce insights and recommendations, and they can run continuously 24/7. But, without the needed data and reliable models, they are not of much help. And, it is often hard to understand the logic behind the produced conclusions.

LLMs can be used to alleviate these obstacles, as they can generate tools for gathering data, help pricing managers to produce good models, and provide natural language explanations forr the logic behind the produced price recommendations.

There are certainly many more ways to leverage AI for Price Optimization and we are eager to see what you come up with! Feel free to go with your passion and explore what's most interesting to you. Here are some ideas for what to build:

• Build a tool for generating price scrapers.

• Categorize products into pricing-equivalents, so a product is compared to appropriate peers.

• Build configurable models for price-elasticity, demand forecasting, seasonality and halo/cannibalization effects.

• Build engine that uses the models for aligning price recommendations with configurable KPIs, such as market share, and profitability.

• A/B-testing for prices.

• Build engine for optimizing loyalty program pricing.
